The Way You Can Stay Focused!

OK I may get into a little bit of trouble for this one but it is just such a great example of how to stay focused that I have to share it, let me know if you an relate…

Focus is an interesting thing, when we are focused on something, everything else comes in second to that one thing we are focused on and unfortunately and fortunately at the same time, the better we become at focus, the more we get done and better our results will be.

My wife and I love to sit and just chill of a Friday or Saturday night. One of the things we do is grab a video or even go out to the movies. Our favourites are action movies. We grab our popcorn and/or a piece of dark chocolate and a cup of green tea (yes we know that some of you think green tea is disgusting, but when you have it with a sweet, it really brings out the flavour of what you are eating… yum) anyway, I am a very focused kind of person. When I have a job to do, or a task I have set myself (like watching a movie lol) nothing else is allowed to get in my way.

I clear my mind and that is it… my wife on the other hand can fluctuate in between focusing on the movie and focusing on the things of family… she is a wonderful wife, mother and friend and when there is something else going on, she will drift into that thought and forget about the movie. The next thing I hear is “Honey what happened there” or “why did that happen?”, we then have to pause the movie and I spend the next little while explaining to her why something has happened…yes it can be very frustrating but I have come to expect it and now just laugh…

This is a great example of “focus”, I’m focusing on the movie, Kasey is focusing on…well something else lol.

Now let’s talk about your business… what do you focus on, are you allowing distraction to get in the way, thinking about other things or other people rather than thinking about what you need to do in your business. You maybe thinking about what you need to do in your business, but at you actually doing it.

Focus takes our energy, our intent and our results to a whole new level. It is one of the things that changes everything. Unfortunately, many people get started in their home based business and instead of learning the skills, using what they learn, making changes along the way and just sticking in there… they quit. They blame everyone and everything else. You don’t want to be that person.

Their focus was on failure and how hard things are, rather than on success and their dream. You see I know that when I am focused on my reason, my dream and on the good things I can do and accomplish I am energised, excited and active, however when I am thinking about failure, laziness and everything else I get nothing done and just want to curl up on the lounge and watch the world go by.

I know people who are afraid to dream and they are also afraid to ACT. Their mind is always in the place of “what if it doesn’t happen…” I hate the idea of living in a place without any dreams, full of fear and no activity. There is no fun there and no reward for life.

Here is one way to focus… write down on a piece of paper what you want out of life, don’t be afraid, just do it. Then remember that dream. You will find that this reason/dream will help you remember why you don’t give, why you keep going…
